Identity questions and life transitions

Relationship Therapy | Couples Therapy
50-minute sessions via telehealth for couples navigating disconnection, conflict, or a desire for a stronger relationship.
Relationships are complicated, and even strong ones go through periods where communication breaks down, distance grows, or old patterns keep repeating. Couples therapy offers a safe, neutral space to slow down, hear each other, and build a stronger relationship.
I work with couples on:
Improving communication and reducing conflict
Rebuilding trust and emotional intimacy
Navigating major life transitions together (new baby, career changes, relocation)
Premarital counseling and building a strong foundation
Culturally specific dynamics including arranged marriage, intercultural relationships, and family-of-origin pressure
Understanding relationship patterns rooted in attachment and early experience
I work with all couples regardless of background, orientation, or relationship structure.
Couples Therapy: $300 per 50-minute session.
Why choose private pay therapy.
I made a deliberate choice not to work with insurance because insurance-based therapy comes with real limitations that I believe get in the way of good clinical care. Here's what private pay means for you:
Your sessions are yours to shape
Insurance companies require a diagnosis to authorize treatment — and then dictate how many sessions you can have, how often, and sometimes even what type of therapy is permitted. As a private pay client, none of that applies. We set the pace, structure, and focus of our work based entirely on what you actually need.
Your privacy is fully protected
When you use insurance, your diagnosis, treatment notes, and clinical details are shared with your insurance company and potentially accessible to others. Private pay therapy keeps your mental health records completely private — between you and me only.
No diagnosis required
Insurance requires a mental health diagnosis to justify reimbursement. Many people seeking therapy — for personal growth, relationship support, identity questions, or life transitions — don't fit neatly into a diagnostic category, and shouldn't have to. Private pay means you can come to therapy as you are, without needing a label.
Flexible, personalized sessions
Without insurance guidelines to follow, I can tailor every aspect of our work to you — the frequency of sessions, the approach we take, the goals we set, and how we measure progress. Your therapy is designed around your life, not a standardized protocol.
No disruption to your care
Insurance coverage changes. Plans lapse, deductibles reset, providers fall in and out of network. Private pay means your care is never interrupted by factors outside your control. You and I decide when and how our work together begins and ends — nobody else.
An investment with lasting returns
Therapy is an investment in yourself — in your relationships, your wellbeing, your ability to show up in your own life. The skills, insight, and change you build in therapy don't expire. They stay with you.
Out-of-network benefits & superbills
While I do not bill insurance directly, you may be eligible for partial reimbursement through your insurance plan's out-of-network benefits.
Here's how it works: I provide you with a monthly superbill, which is an itemized receipt that includes all the information your insurance company needs. You submit this directly to your insurance provider, and many plans will reimburse a percentage of the session fee.
To find out whether you have out-of-network benefits, call the member services number on the back of your insurance card and ask:
"Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?"
"What is my out-of-network deductible, and has any of it been met?"
"What percentage of the fee will be reimbursed once my deductible is met?"
"Do I need a referral or prior authorization for out-of-network therapy?"
FAQs
Do you offer a sliding scale?
1
I maintain a small number of reduced-fee spots for clients who demonstrate financial need. If cost is a barrier, please reach out and we can discuss what's possible. I believe access to quality mental health care matters, and I try to accommodate where I can.
When is payment due?
2
Payment is collected at the time of service, before each session. I accept all major credit cards and debit cards. You will be asked to keep a card on file when we begin working together.
What is your cancellation policy?
3
I ask for at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule a session. Late cancellations and no-shows are charged the full session fee. I understand that life happens, so if something urgent comes up, please reach out as soon as possible.
Is telehealth as effective as in-person therapy?
4
Yes. Research consistently shows that telehealth therapy produces outcomes equivalent to in-person therapy for anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and most other concerns. Many clients find the convenience of telehealth, such as no commute, no waiting room, no parking, actually makes it easier to show up consistently, which matters for progress.
